A lot of things can be derailed in a single day, let alone in an extended amount of time that passes. When it comes to hiatus driven by way of five people’s personal lives, that can mean a multitude of life events. For Scatterbox, it wasn’t a pretty 4 years. Death, divorce, dependency, stress, jail, and a pretty hefty change in world perspective created a root cause for the writing of this hardcore punk rock/thrash outlet. Scatterbox has returned to the running with their most well-rounded and most in-touch release to date.
This record was the result of over a year of writing, followed by another year and a half of recording at three different locations. Producer Nicholas Jarvelin (Hollowpoints, Moral Crux), completely dismantling his Seattle-located recording studio and bringing it to the band certainly made for a chance to get into real element, and produce quite possibly the most aggressive record they have released in their 15 year history.
