Please welcome San Antonio, TX grindcore masters ABSURDIST to Blackhouse Records.

Without a doubt being arguably among one of the very best Metal bands to EVER come out of the state of Texas, Urgent, manic but very tight grindcore outfit Absurdist was conceptualized in January of 2011.  At first consisting of Marlon Friday & Lyle Cooper after working and completing their debut full length “Illusory” in 2012, the band recruited Alexis Mendez on bass guitar and Nick Brown on vocals. With moments that are like a lot of modern-core bands and more atmospheric riffs reminiscent of old-school hardcore like Black Flag or blacker, bleaker sounding grind spin-offs like Godflesh – Absurdist do their part in successfully expanding outward from the tried and true formula of Grindcore.

As a follow-up to their flawless work that was 2012’s full-length “Illusory” (available at https://absvrdist.bandcamp.com/), Absurdist have agreed to pair up with another mystery band (which we will be announcing very soon) for a split release on the Blackhouse Label.

I don’t think the term “excited” even scratches the surface in regards to how we are feeling here at the BHHQ.  More like “completely and totally FLOORED!” better describes it.

Keep your eyes peeled for more developments in the near future.  We cannot wait for you to hear what these guys offer up in 2016.
